SAFETY DIVERS
Becoming a Safety Diver

Becoming a freediving safety diver is an essential role for anyone passionate about the sport and its safety, offering the chance to protect divers while they push their limits. By learning safety techniques, you not only contribute to the growth of freediving in Canada but also become a valuable part of competitions and events, ensuring that they are safe for all participants. By ensuring divers are safe while training or competing, you help foster a supportive environment that attracts newcomers and experienced divers alike. Safety divers are in high demand both locally and internationally, giving you the opportunity to volunteer at prestigious competitions and in diverse underwater environments. The training and experience you gain make you a better freediving buddy, as you’ll understand how to respond in emergencies, enhancing your ability to keep yourself and others safe. In addition to the satisfaction of knowing you're helping to create a safer freediving community, this role offers the benefits of increased confidence and a deeper understanding of freediving techniques.
